  my name is matthew j and i have just ended my study with the jehovah's witnesses.

  no, i did not stop studying because i believe the jehovah's witnesses are a 'cult', i left due to the minor beliefs that i hold that remain separate from the organization.

  i called my elder who is still an amazing man and great counselor, affirming that i do not wish to continue my studying.

  Matt seemingly echoes what many of us felt while in the early stages of getting to know the witnesses and their indoctrination process. What they have been taught to present to the uninitiated is really quite impressive and it does lead one to believe that what they are "seeing" at that moment is true.

  Until one is baptized and a part of the structure one will be treated well. The Love Bombing ends quite abruptly with membership. It is only then that one is able to see and feel the pressures and the fears that are intended to keep one in.

  Count yourself very fortunate Matt. You've made a clean escape.

  Yep, it pretty much reinforces the idea that "my eyes are open and I'm awake!" "I can see how the deception works and my mind is free!" Or words to that effect. The authors of the song probably had a Cult Experience, no?

  I'd say it's a good fit for all of us Xs.

  Those who are living under the ever present fear of losing standing, family and friends will say and do whatever is expected of them. That is the nature of Cults.

  But, do they actually believe? It depends. Some do; some do not; some are wondering. Often it is necessary to pretend in order to maintain stability once snared in the trap.
  

  While there may be reason to see World Events as indications that the Biblical End of This Age is near, how ever it will occur will be quite different from the teachings of WTBorg.inc. Gotta admit, we're living in some weirdly increasing craziness presently, so I for one do believe (and hope) that the End of Corruption, Wickedness, Suffering and War is approaching. I suspect we'll all be very surprised in the not too distant future.

  Family reunion

  my wife and i just enjoyed a family reunion with both my sons ,one wife and one grandchild 10 years old ,where they stayed at our house for a week .. the best week we have had for many a year .

  the couple live only 2 hours away by car and the other son and his child live 2 states away 2 hours by plane.. and thankfully they are no longer associated with the borg that i now regretfully brought them up in , so the borg will never get their children.. it was a happyfying time .

  Reflecting On Death

  i can't remember, maybe steve jobs before he died.i thought i would share it with you and see what you think about it, and i'm quoting i think from his book.. "i'm about fifty-fifty on believing in god.

  for most of my life, i've felt that there must be more to our own existence than meets the eye.. i might be overestimating the odds 50/50 out of a desire to believe in an afterlife.

  My wife, who was from Japan, turned 80 this past November while in a Nursing Home. I myself am 77.

  She passed away on December 13 after nearly 54 years of marriage. She was wonderful and I miss her terribly.

  Without the Grace of God I'd be without hope or happiness.

  My time as a Publisher was brief (1957-1959) thankfully, and I was able to get away from The Cult relatively easily. I can see now more clearly than ever that The Cult is stuck in the First Covenant (Works) and has no comprehension at all of the Second Covenant (Grace) which covers all who have ever lived. Somehow, I knew this even back then, so while it was for a short time in the Organization, the Organization was never really in me. I have great empathy for those who were not so fortunate and those who devoted much of their life to the deceptions of The Cult.

  This life is a necessary experience with all of its beauty and ugliness, for what is yet to come. As we shall all see, Death is only temporary. We shall live again in The Promise.
